Our Highland Cow Walk Through Tour gives you the chance to meet Scotland’s most iconic animals up close. One of our family members will take you on a gentle walk through our working croft here in Duirinish, where we’ve been raising Highland cows for generations. You’ll get to meet the herd, spend time with them, and learn how we care for them throughout the year.
Along the way, we’ll share stories about crofting life, the history of the land, and what it means to live and work in this beautiful part of the Highlands. There will be plenty of time for questions, photos, and a few cuddles with the cows too. Whether you’re an animal lover, a photographer, or just looking for a unique local experience, this tour is a great way to connect with the real Highland way of life.

Guided walk through the croft, introduction to our Highland cows, photo stops, cow brushing and interaction, and a look into our family’s crofting life
Amazing experience!!! Super friendly guide! We learnt a lot about the amazing Highland cows and even got to see a 3 days old baby!! The best part was having the opportunity to brush them too!! One of the best experiences in Isle of Skye! Definitely a must do!
Who Can Join?
We welcome:
- Solo travellers, couples, families, and small groups
- Private and wedding tours available on request
- Children aged 6 and above
- Participants able to walk approx. 2 miles over uneven ground
Please note:
- Not suitable for children under 6, wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs
- No dogs allowed
- Guests must wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear — no flappy items, please!
